Just Another Mistake~~~ T_T~~~

Perhaps I was not familiar with the interface of Picasa Web album...
I made a mistake and screwed up all my previous download of Yong Yap trip pictures taken by others of the team...
And now I need to redownload all those pictures again...
There were more than thousand of photos taken by Mantaray Ades Dinosaur Sakuragi TheDegeneration and Zawa...
And I had to download those pictures one by one...
Some one kill me please... T_T...

My strained wrist still haven't recovered due to helping the 17.5kg girl carrying her weight... Shame on me... T_T...
And it seems like getting worst these two days most likely due to Monday Body Pump class...
Thanks to my ignorance and male chauvinism ego... T_T...
Anyway... I'm going to stop Body Pump class on Friday and next Monday since I was going back to my hometown...
I hope that it will fully recover by the time I'm back to the next class...
Anyway... The 17.5kg girl really did catch my attention this time...
Such a tough girl in such a small size...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Day 5~~~ 20080504~~~

I think this was the best sleep ever since day 1 of Yong Yap trip...
One sleep till the morning... ^^...
Feeling refresh but yet the pain on both of my legs were getting worst...
Anyway... It was an easy morning...
Since the four wheels drives will only be available at 10am...
We really had plenty of time and there was no reason to rush for anything...
We took a really long breakfast... Then spend some time with the orang asli...
I was really sad to see how bad the condition was for the orang asli...
They do not have electricity... And the whole village only have two clean tap water source...
And the so call tap water was not really a proper tap water anyway...
It was just a pipe which lead the clean water source to the village...
And their main income was from us... The climbers... T_T...
Which you won't get people to climb Yong Yap everyday...
Before leaving the village... I had given all my food left from the climb to the villagers...
500g of rice and three pack of instant hot chocolate drink...
Not much actually but that's all that I had... T_T...
They even want those plastic bags and plastic bottle...
As to them they are quite valuable... How sad to see that as we can get so much of these plastic products everywhere in the city...
They are suppose to be the owner of this land...
But somehow they were living the poorest life among all the citizen of this country... T_T...
The team had agreed that next time if we ever go for any climb that passby any orang asli village...
We shall bring extra food to contribute to them...
And ironically there was a big banner hanging in the middle of the village saying that please vote for BN...

Before boarding our four wheels drive... Meet again with the biggest challenge of the climb... The bamboo bridge crossing... T_T...
Anyway... With the help of villagers everyone had cross the bridge save and sound...
You should see how easy for them to cross the bridge with two bulky backpacks...
While climbers like us had to crawl in all four... T_T...
Again a 30 minutes of very very bumpy ride to Kampung Raja in the four wheels drive...
And I hardly can made myself up after the drive and my butt was hurt due to the dumpy ride... T_T...
After resting a while in the nearby coffee shop...
It was time to say goodbye to the Penang team as they had decided to go to Ipod before back to Penang...
While four of us from the KL team will go on rotting all the way from Cameron to KL... ^^...

Our first stop of course was Brinchang...
In fact we stopped by all the way down Cameron Highland... ^^...
First we stop by a roll of store selling snacks and fruits and vegetables...
I got myself a strawberries ice cream and a small bowl of fried mushroom... Taste so nice... ^^...
And some fresh strawberries and baby tomatoes as well...
Then we went to a tea garden which I already forgot the name...
The view of the tea garden was really nice and peaceful...
Just that the legs started to hurt like hell...
And the stairs down the tea garden was really killing me... T_T...
Taking some photos and some shopping too...
Then again stopped by a roadside stall to get some wild honey...
Oh my... We were really rotting all the way down Cameron...

Then our next stop was Bidor... What else for stopping by Bidor other than the famous Duck Noodle... ^^...
Still it tasted as nice as last time...
It just reminded me the advise from TheForestGump teacher about how duck meat would help for the climbers during the climb and recovery after the climb as well...
But somehow I don't really felt much different after consumed the Duck Noodle...
Perhaps I was not at that level yet... T_T...
And the Sui Bao and Wu Kok was still as good business as my last visit...
All Sui Bao were out... But somehow I still managed to get some Wu Kok... Yum... ^^...

After the meal... We headed to Sungai Klah Hot Spring...
For a moment I just did not understand that why did we go for hot spring during such a hot weather... T_T...
Anyway... The hot spring did help soothing the ache on my legs...
But so sorry for those sharing the same pool with us...
4 pairs of legs full with cuts and wound were quite a scene you know...
My favorite among all was the stone foot massage path with hot water...
It's hot... It's pain... And it's fun... ^^...
Anyway again... The pain of my legs were killing me...
Especially when we need to walk from the hot pool park to the cool pool park... T_T...
Which gave me a mental note that never ever wear sandal for climbing again... T_T...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Day 4~~~ 20080503~~~

I think I did wake up in the early morning when Manatray when out for the sun rise...
And seriously I really really want to go for the sun rise too...
But I was tired... And I was lazy... And it was so cold outside...
Somehow the urge of sleeping had overcome the urge to see the sun rise...
And I felt again into the land of dream... T_T...
And that was how I missed another sun rise again... T_T...
I think so far the only sun rise that I ever witness during an overnight climb was KK... T_T...
For the rest of the mountain that I ever conquered... I just can't wake up for its sun rise... T_T...
I wake up only 1 hour after the sun rise climate...
When bunch of people walked pass and through my tent...
Too bad... We setup the tent on one of the highway of the peak...
Anyway... Yong Yap peak was not a very nice place for watching sun rise...
As the peak was surrounded by a layer of man height bushes...
Which you almost can't see anything at all...
The only place that you can see anything outside the peak was a meter wide gap right at the direction of the sun rise...
Which make me kept wondering could it be something human made... ^^...

After the breakfast and after packing up everything...
And came the moment that I hate the most for the whole climb...
That was to wear the wet socks and shoes... Yuke... So hate... T_T...
Before we started our descending... We took a group photo as usual...
And in fact... We took lotsssss of group photos...
I was trying to take a panorama view from the peak...
But due to my laziness for not waking up early that lead and we were really late already...
I had to take the picture in a hurry...
And only to realize that I didn't take the panorama picture properly...
The pictures had been merged at the wrong place... What a waste... T_T...

We were lost after 15 minutes we started our day of descending...
Which according to our guide if we kept going down the track it will lead us to the peak of another mountain... T_T...
However... Since TheDegeneration and WinJong were first two and they were far more ahead of us...
We were quite worried that they might taken the wrong track like us...
But somehow there were nothing much that we can do about...
A sense of helpless when facing the challenge of mother nature...
I only can hope for the best for them...
And thank God too... They had picked the right one... ^^...
The climb down hill was easier a lot then the last two days...
Just that it really put my balancing skill up to the test especially on certain places that were really really steep...
However it was really a hard time for my knees... T_T...
Still it was consider quite a easy climb today except that it was too long...
9 hours of climb down hill... It was just way too long... T_T...

While on our way toward the deepest river crossing...
Which we had instructed by TheForestGump teach to stop there and wait for everyone...
We had been walking for hours and the track still seems to be neverending...
And everyone was tired and boring but still kept the legs moving...
Out of a sudden I heard a buzz on my left ear...
Then the next thing I got was a sharp pain on the back of my head...
Then I heard the screaming from the person right behind me who is from TheForestGump teacher team...
Then TheMuarian and then TheSingaporean...
Shit... Bees attack... T_T... And we ran...
The person behind got one... TheSingaporean got one... Me got one...
TheMuarian... He got three... Poor thing... T_T...
And after 15 minutes TheMuarian started to complain about the his swollen face... T_T...
Too bad that we do not have the proper medicine for his allergy...
Nothing we can do except asking him to bring more water and rest and wait for TheForestGump teacher for the medicine...
And I felt so sorry for leaving him and TheSingaporean behind...
Especially after knowing that he had totally collapsed not long after we left...
Until TheForestGump teacher catched up with him... T_T...
So sorry... But really that was nothing I can do about it... T_T...
By the way... The sting was really painful... And it hurts for two days... T_T...

After waiting for everyone to catch up at the deepest river crossing...
We had learned our lesson and came up with a human bridge to pass all the backpacks across the river...
Then helped each other to cross the river one by one...
For the first time after the three days climb...
I felt like we were really climbing as a team...
As all these well we were all climbing in small groups and the distance between groups was hours away... T_T...
Finally we were back to the orang asli village by 7pm...
The sun was about to set and the sky was getting darker...
Still we setup our camp... Cleaned ourselves up at the nearby river... Prepared our dinner...
All in the dark... But of course with our headlights...
We gathered up and started to talk bullshit...
And the hottest topic of course was the bee attack just now...
Some even share their strange encountered during the climb...
And of course they only dared to tell the story after we had back to the orang asli village...
That was the night that I slept the latest even I was really tired...
And again it was another clear night full with stars... ^^...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Day 3~~~ 20080502~~~

Wake up early in the morning with a good news and a bad news...
The bad news... Those cuts on my leg due to the sandal were really bad... T_T...
The good news... I was going to wear my Adidas walking shoes today... Dry one... ^^...
Breakfast... Cleanup... Packing... Group photos...
Then again it was about time to go back on the track again...
Only until the moment when we were about to leave the campsite...
I found out that the campsite was really a beautiful place...
Especially when it was covered with the morning ray... How nice... T_T...
On the road again... I must said that the first 10 minutes perhaps was the best moment of my whole climbing trip...
Until we came to our first river crossing of the second day...
And much much more river crossing to come after this one...
I thought that there was not going to be any river crossing on the second day... Why... T_T...
And my shoes were never dry since again then... T_T...

The first hour of climbing were more or less the same as yesterday...
River crossing... River crossing... And river crossing...
Until when we reach the point of our last water source...
Then the climbing had became much much more difficult...
First we were starting to climb up hill...
Second the terrain had became steeper...
Third since that was the last water source...
My backpack was now 3kg heavier as I need to bring 3 litres of water up hill for tonight and tomorrow...
Perhaps that's the most painful part throughout the whole climb...
Like yesterday I was climbing together with TheDegeneration and MayDay...
Really admire both of them and those who climbing with the DSLR...
An addition 3kg already enough to kill me...
Just imagine another 3kg for DSLR... T_T...
Looking at the bulky backpack of TheDegeneration... I don't even dare to try how heavy it was... T_T...

As we got higher and higher... The vegetation was getting lower and lower...
And the terrain was getting more and more challenging...
And we stopped for rest more and more frequent...
But I was glad to have TheDegeneration and MayDay with me...
Talking bull shit and hypnotising each other that the peak was near...
Even the climb was a killing one... But it was really a nice place...
Especially when you were resting on the soft and wet lichens...
Listening to the singing of unknown birds...
And letting the cool breeze dried our sweat...
I really wish we can just rest there forever...
Out of the sudden... We heard a shout from somewhere above...
It was WinJong... Who was the person that at the front most of our team...
And he had reach the peak and came back to see if there was any load that he can help to share... How nice was he... ^^...
And the best news that he brought to us that we were 10 minutes away from the peak...
But one thing that we forgot was that climbing down hill always 3 times faster than climbing up hill...
We finally reach the peak after 30 minutes... Finally... T_T...

The rest of the group was reaching the peak one by one...
And there was already another group that had reach the peak earlier than us...
So how we were having a serious problem of not enough place for camping...
Actually I did foresee that this was going to happen yesterday night...
But since we managed to survive the hardest part of the climbing to reach to peak...
I don't think there would we so much trouble to survive another night...
Thanks a lot to TheForestGump teacher which he had found a spot for us to setup our camp...
Quite a small place actually and only managed to fit two person...
So sorry to Ades... We had to dump him to another camp... T_T...

Tonight dinner was prepared by Ades...
And again both Ades and Mantaray were having a full mass tin of rice...
My God... I wonder how big were their stomach... T_T...
When night fall... I made a couple of phone calls to FactoryGirl and Eric...
I wonder why you will always get mobile signal on most of the peaks...
Even the reception was really poor...
But so nice to have them to share my joy on the peak... ^^...
I was thinking of joining the gang after the phone call...
But the cuts on the legs were really hurt...
So I just lay down and opened up the net and the flysheet of the tent...
And let all the stars of the dark sky felt into my eye...
What a beautiful starry night... ^^...
Too bad that I do not have a camera that was powerful enough to take a picture of the sky full with stars...
And I hope that no sandfly get into our tent tonight else Mantaray will cursed me to death...

I dreamt of everyone of the climbing team that night...
We were riding a roller coaster that seem to be never ending...
We went round and round and I kept seeing all kind of faces turning round round in front of me...
Until the sound of the rain drop waken me up...
Making a quick check that no where of the tent was leaking...
Then I felt back to my dreamland again...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Day 2~~~ 20080501~~~

Woke up early in the morning feeling cool and fresh...
And the first thing I did in the morning was to visit the toilet for the big business...
Trying to clear up myself as much as possible...
Just imagine of not having a proper toilet facility for the next three days... T_T...
Then after the final round of packing... We were ready to go...
But before that... We went to Kampung Raja for breakfast... ^^...
Hot Milo with Kuey Teow Soup... Simple but most likely going to be the best meal ever for the next three days... T_T...
Anyway... Kampung Raja seems to be the entrance for most of the mountain available in Cameron highland...
As we had met some of the climbers who were going to another mountain there too waiting for their four wheel drive...
Anyway... It was just a simple but busy little town...

Finally our four wheel drives was here...
3 vehicles to squeeze in 25++ climbers with all of their bulky backpacks... T_T...
The ride to the orang asli village was a bumpy one...
Which took us about 30 minutes to the first village...
Then another 30 minutes to the second village...
Which according to them it will save us up to 1 hour of climbing...
And I just can't wait to get off the four wheel drive and started the climb...
As I just hate the feeling of being like a sardine... T_T...

Once we reach the starting point of the climb...
We were facing our biggest challenge throughout the whole climbing trip...
That was to cross a long and shaky and simple little bridge...
The bridge was actually just three long bamboo stick and it was so hard to balance myself while looking at the river roaring down below... T_T...
Still all of us managed to cross save and sound...
Except for our leader who accidentally felt from the bridge but luckily his backpack was not getting wet...
After an hour climbing on the broad logging trail...
Then came our second biggest challenge of the trip...
It was to cross the deepest river... Actually it was just about waist level deep...
But it became a very difficult task when you need to cross it with a huge backpack behind you and somehow still you need to keep it dry...
The rapid was strong... I really had some hard time to keep myself steady and balance...
And of course... My backpack was wet... T_T...
But luckily enough I did enough waterproof precaution on everything in my backpack...
Else I just can't imagine how to survive at the peak with wet cloth and wet sleeping bag... T_T...

The rest of the climb was just more or less the same...
Flat and easy terrain... With tons and tons and tons of river crossing...
And I can hardly find a leech in this whole mountain...
But there were something else that were much more irritating than leeches...
Mosquitoes... Sandflies... And all kind of insects that suck blood... T_T...
And that's one of the reason why I just kept on climbing and very hesitate to stop for a rest...
As no matter where I stopped or how long I stopped...
There were going to be tons and tons of tiny creatures crawling or flying around my legs... Shit... T_T...
And there was a big mistake that I had made during the first day of the climb...
Which was climbing with only sandal...
I always thought that it would be a good idea since we had a lot of river crossing on the first day...
Furthermore a lot of climbers were climbing with sandals too on the first day...
And I hate so much to do the climbing with wet sport shoes...
But the price was not a small one too...
I got four big cuts and two blisters on my feet at the end of the day...
And the pain was really killing me... T_T...

We reach the campsite about 4:30pm in the afternoon... Which was about 6 hours climb...
As expected the campsite was full with sandflies... So hate... T_T...
I just can't wait to setup my camp clean up myself and get change into my long pant with a thick layer of mosquitoes repeller to get rid of them...
However the number of sandflies seems to be reducing after night fall...
And thanks to that so that I can really enjoy my dinner with Ades which prepared by Mantaray...
It was really a shock to see the amount rice that he had prepared for just three of us...
A full mass tin of rice... T_T...
It just reminded me that how 1000 and 501 finished up a KFC family bucket after Gunung Tahan trip...
Perhaps mountain had some kind of power to make someone crazy about food... T_T...
Anyway I consumed up about half mass tin of rice and both of them took care of the rest...
Still I had quite a full dinner as it ate much much more than usual...

Midnight while resting... I dreamt of sandflies biting up my legs... T_T...
Just to wake up and realize that it was raining outside...
And those cuts were still very aching... T_T...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Day 1~~~ 20080430~~~

Yong Yap... 7110 feet... One of the seven highest peaks in peninsular or also known as G7...
Conquering G7 always the dream of Malaysian mountain lovers...
It was a shame for me to claim that I love mountain climbing but somehow I never heard of Yong Yap... Not even G7... T_T...
I thought I will never going to try any overnight climbing trip ever since the day I injured my knees...
But somehow I signed up this Yong Yap trip on the first day I saw the invitation...
Perhaps my knee was really in good shape recently...
Or perhaps it was just pure fate that bring me to Yong Yap...

On the day before the climb... I took a day off and went to KLCC and got myself a new hair cut
Pray for a smooth trip for my climb while having my vegetarian lunch in the nearby temple... ^^...
Then went for a round at the nearby grocery store just to make sure that I didn't miss out anything...
You know... It had been a while since my last camping trip and I am such a forgetful person... T_T...
I got everything ready at 5pm... Then took my dinner at 6pm... Then left my place at 7pm...
And luckily I met with MayDay on my way to Mantaray house as I was obviously lost and Mantaray seems uncontactable...
By 7:30pm... Everyone was gathered right in front of Mantary house... Our leader of KL team... ^^...
Everything was just perfect... Except Mantaray was missing... T_T...
He only showed up after about 1 hour...
But I didn't blame anything... Everybody need to work anyway...

We departed about one hour late as planned...
And we stopped by for a while at Tapah for dinner...
And finally we managed to reach Tanah Rata at about midnight...
And TheForestGump teacher had just finished the briefing of tomorrow climb... Too bad for me... T_T...
It was really a surprise to me when I found out that there was going to be such a big group of climbers that will join me to Yong Yap on the next day...
A lot of new faces there... Most of the Penang team members that I never met...
And also some of the people that joined together with TheForestGump teacher...
Most of them look so professional and it started to make me nervous...
And I started to feel pain on my knee... Then my ankle... Then my toe... Shit... T_T...
I spent my night in the living room of the chalet that rented by TheForestGump teacher...
No choice... There were such a big group and we were out of room to spare...
And I just can't help myself thinking about would I able to keep up with the gang during the climb tomorrow throughout the whole night... T_T...

By the way... The drive up to Cameron during the night was really an exciting one... ^^...

Just Another Climbing Trip to Yong Yap~~~ Teaser~~~

I'm back from my 4 days 3 nights climb to Yong Yap...
Actually it was just 3 days climb...
The last day was basically just staying at the orang asli village and going for makam trip while on our way back home... ^^...

During the trip...
I had to do tons and tons of river crossing...
And bitten or stung by tons and tons of mosquitoes and sandflies and bees...
And got myself tons and tons of wounds on my legs and they were still painful now...
And got tons and tons of cloths and climbing gears to clean up... T_T...

It might sound like a trip to nightmare... Perhaps it was a little...
But still I really enjoy myself during the climb...
Especially when climbing with a bunch of mountain lovers... ^^...
And also it was so nice to know TheForestGump...
The one who was refer by the rest as The Teacher...
And I really learnt a lot from him regarding mountain climbing... ^^...
